GMC Track and Field Team Triumphs Again: 4th Consecutive PRISAA Regional Championship

San Pablo City, Laguna – For the fourth consecutive year, the Guang Ming College (GMC) Track and Field Team concluded the Regional PRISAA Meet 2026 in San Pablo City with outstanding success, securing championship titles in both the men’s and women’s divisions. Organized by PRISAA Region 4A, the four-day meet on March 19 – 22, 2026, brought together the region’s top student-athletes for a display of determination and skill, and GMC once again proved themselves as a powerhouse in track and field.

The men’s team delivered an exceptional performance, led by Scott Norbe Arroyo, team captain and 2025 National PRISAA Most Valuable Player, who captured four gold medals. Jonathan Lorete followed with three golds, and Derek James Pogoy added two golds. Strong contributions also came from John Lloyd Pandi and Dahn France Rapsing (each with one gold and one silver medal), Jay Vie Librando, Jerico Sabellina, Krishna Vizano, and Edgar Ablao (each with one gold and one bronze medal), and Cris Gabayan (two silver medals).

The team’s depth and consistency ensured a dominant showing across multiple events.

Equally impressive was the women’s team, led by standout athletes Daisy Rivera and Charlaine Deocampo, both securing four gold medals. Rivera, a graduating senior, capped her PRISAA career with an extraordinary performance, while Deocampo, team captain, demonstrated remarkable leadership and poise. Alexandra Euste contributed three golds and one silver, Chammy Requiron earned two golds and one silver, and Christine Diaz added two golds and one bronze. Supporting these achievements, Kyla Jurado, Weliza Esplana, Summer Morante, Jercel Alvaro, Sophia Sia, and Minuel Viral each earned one gold and one silver medal, with Christine Justol (two silvers), Rueste Alingasa (one silver and one bronze), Karen Pelegria (one silver), and Jessah Sajot (one bronze) further adding to the team’s overall success.

Under the guidance of Coaches Melchor Ayon Ayon, Henry Chaneco, and Arnold Villarube, every athlete’s potential was maximized, resulting in outstanding performances and a remarkable medal tally at the PRISAA Regional Meet 2026.

The final medal tally underscores the team’s supremacy: 36 Gold, 18 Silver, 4 Bronze

With this victory, the GMC Track and Field Team celebrates a fourth consecutive regional championship, further solidifying its reputation as one of the leading athletics programs in the region. Following this triumph, the team is set to represent the Calabarzon Region at the National PRISAA Games in Bacolod City, ready to continue their pursuit of national glory.

More than the medals and titles, the PRISAA Regional Meet 2026 stood as a testament to the team’s dedication, discipline, and unity – values that continue to drive the GMC Track and Field Team forward.

As the team reflects on this milestone, Head Coach Melchor Ayon Ayon shared his message of gratitude and encouragement:
